In the main chamber of the Warworld, Starscream gloats to Megatron and Optimus Prime about how his fusion with the Warworld has made him the most powerful being in existence. He shrugs off an attack from Lord Jhiaxus' forces, then ensnares the two leaders and begins to torment them. Down on Earth, Jhiaxus goes into a violent rage when he learns the Warworld has been taken, then angrily returns to his flagship. Worried that Jhiaxus' irrationality may threaten the other Decepticons, his lieutenant, Rook, sends a message to the Leige Maximo...
In the Warworld, Starscream tries to flush Optimus and Megatron into the ship's plasma core, but Megatron saves them both. While Megatron attacks Starscream to keep him distracted, Optimus tries to make his way through the ever-shifting corridors to the main control center. The next-generation Decepticons then attack the Warworld en masse, but Starscream still manages to fight them off with his new power. Oblivious to the slaughter of his troops, Jhiaxus sends even more warriors after Starscream.
Helped by the twisting tunnels, Optimus quickly reaches the Warworld's control center and makes contact with the Decepticon flagship. But Jhiaxus ignores Optimus' pleas for an alliance against the Swarm, and orders his gunner to open fire on Earth!

The city of San Francisco is destroyed.
While Optimus Prime reels in horror, Jhiaxus orders his gunner to fire again, unconcerned that his troops still planetside would be endangered. Before the gunner can obey, the flagship is attacked by the Warworld. On board, Starscream appears to Optimus, clearly pained: the Creation Matrix is starting to change him, making him become selfless and good against his will.
Optimus then realizes that evil can be turned to good, and gets the glimmers of a plan. But his hopes disappear just as suddenly when the Swarm arrives...
