Resumen:
Donny Finkleberg flees from the Decepticon strip mine, unaware that Ravage is chasing him. Finding an unguarded campsite, Donny burns his Robot-Master costume, then exchanges some money for a set of clothes. Ravage eventually reaches the campsite, but only succeeds in vaporizing the costume -- the human's scent is gone, and now Ravage must hunt him down.
In a nearby town, a supermarket clerk named Charlene is hiking with her friend Wendell when they find Skids' wreck (from last issue). Charlene arranges to have Skids towed into town and repaired; when he is finally restored to working order, Charlene takes him as her car. On the way to Charlene's home, Skids is spotted by Jake Dalrymple, who chases them. Skids loses Jake with some impossible driving maneuvers, which frightens Charlene. Skids then transforms and reveals himself, asking her to let him avoid the war and simply be her car.
Over the next few days, Charlene and Skids spend their time together. They share stories -- Skids about Cybertron, Charlene about the Old West -- and enjoy each other's company. While Charlene is washing Skids one day, Donny Finkleberg passes by and discovers them. Donny is trying to talk Skids into taking him to the Autobots when Ravage attacks. The humans climb into Skids and drive off, with Ravage in close pursuit. Along the way, they run across Jake again, who follows in his car.
Skids eventually leads Ravage to an abandoned mining town. He sends Charlene and Donny off to hide, but is then ambushed by Jake. Jake smashes Skids' windshield, which knocks him out and causes him to dream about being a gunslinger. Skids then reawakens as Donny and Charlene are arguing with Jake and his girlfriend.
Ravage suddenly attacks, scattering the humans. Jake, goaded by his girlfriend for his boorish behavior, rams his car into Ravage, buying Skids some time. Skids fights Ravage, then tricks the Decepticon into falling down an abandoned mine shaft. Skids then reluctantly concludes that he must be a warrior despite his feelings against it. After saying goodbye to Charlene, he leaves with Donny for the Ark.
