Resumen:
On the Columbia River gorge in Oregon, two tourists are spooked as half of a suspension bridge appears in midair. Though they drive on the bridge to investigate, the humans are scared off by an exploding "monster," and the bridge vanishes a moment after they leave.
On Cybertron, the Earth-half of the space bridge returns, and Decepticon governor Straxus rants at the mechanical failure. Shrapnel discovers the problem and orders the bridge shut down for repairs. Spying on a hidden ledge, Blaster records the proceedings, then rendezvous with Powerglide and returns to Autobase. After sharing his findings with the Autobots there, Blaster wants to find the scientist Spanner (mentioned last issue). Perceptor refuses, saying that the destruction of the space bridge takes precedence.
At the Decepticon strip mine base in Wyoming, Donny Finkleberg has just finished another "Robot-Master" broadcast when Shockwave returns with the Decepticon jets. Megatron and Shockwave prepare to fight a duel for leadership, but they are interrupted by a message from Straxus -- he has received Soundwave's transmission (sent in issue #10), and is ready to use the space bridge to help them raid the Earth. Megatron and Shockwave put aside their differences and start working with Straxus.
Back on Cybertron, Perceptor leads an Autobot strike team to tunnels beneath Darkmount and blow it up. The effort succeeds; Darkmount falls, and Straxus leads his Decepticons against the Autobots. With everyone else engaged in the battle, Blaster reaches the space bridge and begins to plant explosives all over it. But his work is interrupted when he suddenly finds Spanner -- who's been made into the bridge itself!
While Blaster debates the morality of killing Spanner, Straxus discovers his presence and carries the battle over there. Shrapnel activates the space bridge, and the Autobots and Decepticons fight on it across both Earth and Cybertron. Blaster eventually faces off against Straxus; Blaster kicks Straxus over the edge and into the interdimensional void, where Straxus explodes. The Autobots get off the bridge just before it vanishes, leaving them stranded on Earth and surrounded by human authorities.
La condena de Spanner como puente espacial no se menciona o se muestra nunca más. A causa de que el puente se construye a partir del propio Spanner, se puede presumir que solo hay un único puente espacial (ya que solo hay un único Spanner).
