Resumen:
Ratchet and Buster, fleeing from the Ark, meet a group of campers. While Ratchet tells them about where the Autobots came from, Buster is suddenly jolted by an immense headache. After he recovers, Buster gets a ride to the city from the campers, while Ratchet remains behind to brood in the woods.
The next day, in Portland, Oregon, an employee of G.B. Blackrock's aerospace plant finds a cassette player in the parking lot. He brings it inside and stores it in his locker, whereupon it transforms into Soundwave, who quickly conquers the plant and defeats the humans. A frustrated Blackrock visits Josie Beller in the hospital; though she is almost completely paralyzed, she continues to work, and silently vows to help him stop the robots.
Ratchet sneaks inside the Ark and confirms Buster's grim news -- the Autobots are all disabled and helpless. He then finds the head of Optimus Prime, who reveals that Megatron is the only Decepticon left at the Ark. Despite's Ratchet's lack of fighting skills, Optimus convinces him to try and defeat Megatron.
At the Witwicky garage, Buster scares off his friends with a temper tantrum, then drops with another headache. The pain quickly vanishes, but not before a few tools start floating through the air...
While searching through the Ark, Ratchet is ambushed by Megatron, who easily defeats him. Ratchet saves himself by making a deal -- if Ratchet can learn how Shockwave was previously defeated by the Dinobots (from issue #4) and destroy him, Megatron will leave the Ark and return it to the Autobots. Sealing their pact, Megatron gloats that he will win regardless of Ratchet's success or failure.
